  1. A head on shot of racing Minis at Cadwell Park. A lot of fun,
  2. this type of thing, particularly if you have an interest in cars.
  3. However, I have achieved what I thought were excellent shots,
  4. only to have them rejected by the photo libraries.
  5.  
  6. They simply get too many submitted, so any that are successful
  7. must be VERY special.
  8.  
  9. Here, the cars look to be very close to each other, and they were
  10. quite close. However, a Canon 100/300 USM autofocus lens was used
  11. at the 300 mm. setting. The long focal length tends to compress
  12. perspective, making things look closer to each other. The result
  13. can be much greater impact.

  15. The camera, an EOS 600, has continuous autofocus, which was used
  16. here and appears to be very accurate as long as the main subject
  17. is kept in the centre of the viewfinder.

  19. A monopod was also used to keep the camera steady whilst
  20. retaining reasonable freedom.
